The countdown has begun for the “Iron Women: The Power of Women in Welding Art” project, which was developed to socially and economically empower women who settled in Istanbul after the Kahramanmaraş earthquake.

The academic and vocational training process of the project, which was designed by the Women’s Association in Business World with the support of the General Directorate of Relations with Civil Society of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Türkiye, will be carried out by Istanbul Kültür University and Istanbul Gedik University.

Prof. Dr. Çağla Gül Yesevi, Head of the International Relations Department at Istanbul Kültür University (I), has been honored with an honorary doctorate by the Journalism and Mass Communications University of Uzbekistan in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The title was presented by the Deputy Secretary-General, Mr. Mirvohid Azimov, at the General Secretariat of the Organization of Turkic States.

IKU OTONOM Team, which participated in the Robotaxi Full-Scale Autonomous Vehicle Competition held at the Bilişim Vadisi Campus in Gebze district of Kocaeli within the scope of TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival, successfully completed the technical test phase. We wish success to the IKU OTONOM Team, which continues its activities within the Asimov Technology Club in the final stage.

A cooperation protocol was signed between Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) and Bakırköy Social Security Provincial Directorate regarding the activities to be carried out within the scope of the Year of Retirees. The protocol was signed by our Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe, Bakırköy Social Security Provincial Director Harun Sertbaş, Deputy Provincial Director Sinan Akpınar and Center Manager Hatice Çolak.

Applications for the new term have started for the Design Factory, which Istanbul Kültür University launched three years ago. In this period, all second year and above students enrolled in the departments of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Programming, Cartoon and Animation, Communication Design, Radio Television and Cinema, Communication Arts and Digital Game Design can apply to the Design Factory's apprentice program.

The project “From the Internal Ornament Workshop to the Digital Age: The Past, Present, and Future of Interior Architecture Education”, which was carried out by one of our faculty members of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Assoc. Prof.

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) 2024 Graduation Ball was hosted at Portaxe Baltalimanı on Monday, July 1. At the ball, which was held with the participation of our Chairperson of the Board of Trustees & IKUMED Dr. Bahar Akıngüç Günver, our Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe, our Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Gülce Öğrüç Ildız and Prof. Dr. Burcu Yavuz Tiftikçigil, and IKUMED Board Members, our graduates enjoyed the DJ performance after the graduation cake was cut.

Nearly two thousand students experienced the joy of graduation at Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) 2023-2024 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony. At the ceremony, which was held in four sessions on July 2 and 3, 2024 at the Yahya Kemal Beyatlı Show Center, approximately two thousand students graduating from eight Faculties, two Vocational Schools and the Institute of Graduate Studies threw their caps, and the total number of graduates of our university has reached 37 thousand.

Our University, which applied to the Horizon Europe / ERA Chairs call, which aims to improve the scientific capacity of European Union (EU) member and candidate countries and encourage participation in this field, with the "Spectroscopy@IKU" project, became the first Turkish university to receive 2.5 million euros of support.

A new education was provided under the management of our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Burcu Yavuz Tiftikçigil within the scope of the RESLOG Türkiye Project supported by Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MTSO) and Mersin Metropolitan Municipality. MTSO Atölye 1886 hosted the training, which was held to prepare Mersin agriculture and food sector representatives for the adaptation process to the EU Green Deal.
