DESIGN FACTORY PROMOTION AND INFORMATION ACTIVITIES

  As part of the Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Design Factory's 2024-2025 academic year promotion and information activities, various presentations were organized in collaboration with different departments of our university. These comprehensive promotional activities, in which new informative presentations are also planned, attracted great interest from our students.

ISTANBUL KÜLTÜR UNIVERSİTY (IKU) CELEBRATED 101ST ANNIVERSARY OF THE REPUBLIC DAY

Istanbul Kültür University celebrated the 101st anniversary of the declaration of the Turkish Republic on Tuesday, October 29, with a ceremony held at the front garden of the Ataköy building on the Bakırköy Campus. Attended by the Board of Trustees, the Rectorate, deans, and academic and administrative staff, the event began with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the Atatürk bust.

"THE WIND OF THE REPUBLIC: 100 YEARS WITH MELODIES" CONCERT

Istanbul Kültür University Fine Arts Application and Research Centre (GSUAM) organised the concert "The Wind of the Republic: 100 Years with Melodies" to celebrate the 100-year history of our Republic and the polyphonic richness of Turkish music. The event met with art lovers at the Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus on Wednesday, October 23 at 19:00.

“INSUFFICIENT KNOWLEDGE OF BREAST CANCER SYMPTOMS DELAYS TREATMENT SEEKING AMONG WOMEN”

Our Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Asiye Gül gave a statement to Demirören News Agency (DHA) about how the insufficient knowledge about the symptoms and signs of breast cancer causes delays in treatment-seeking among women.

Highlighting the World Health Organization’s report that 2.3 million women were diagnosed with breast cancer worldwide in 2022, resulting in 670.000 deaths, Prof. Dr. Gül stressed the importance of educating the general population on breast cancer symptoms, risk factors, and early diagnosis methods due to the significant rise in cases.

“TÜRKİYE OF LIBERATION: ANKARA SUMMER 1922” EXHIBITION THROUGH THE EYES OF YEVGENİ LANSERE OPENED AT IKUSAG

Istanbul Kültür University Art Gallery (IKUSAG) opened its 2024-2025 season with Yevgeni Lansere's exhibition “Türkiye of Liberation: Ankara Summer 1922.” The opening of the exhibition, organized in collaboration with Cumhuriyet Newspaper, was held on Wednesday, October 16 at 15:00 in the IKUSAG Exhibition Hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.

“INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY OF HUMAN RIGHTS 23RD SUMMER WORKSHOP”

Istanbul Kültür University Penal Law Application and Research Center (CEHAMER) organised the ‘International Academy of Human Rights 23rd Summer Workshop’ between October 7-12, 2024, at Kuşadası Richmond Ephesus Hotel.

The event was chaired by Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Bahri Öztürk, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Director of CEHAMER, and Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Helmut Goerlich, and honoured with the attendance of Mr. Ralf Schröer, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Izmir, and Mr. Niyazi Acar, Deputy Minister of Justice.

PROF. DR. DR. H.C. ÇAĞLA GÜL YESEVİ COMMENTED ON THE EVENTS IN THE MIDDLE EAST

Our Head of the Department of International Relations, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Çağla Gül Yesevi, commented on the balances in the Middle East and Türkiye's position in the process to Demirören News Agency (DHA). Prof. Dr. Yesevi said, “The cyberattacks of September 18 were taken seriously by Hezbollah, but it should be noted that many of its members have been wounded and killed since then. The destruction of older technology devices used by Hezbollah to protect its members was interpreted as a cyberattack or an act of terrorism.
