In the "Faculty of Engineering Day" event held on Tuesday, 9 May with the participation of our Chairperson of the Board of Trustees Dr. Bahar Akıngüç Günver and Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe, certificates of achievement were presented to our students who represented our university in various fields. In the event, the technology clubs of our university also exhibited their projects.

Developed by our university in 2022, Qankaland which relies on artificial intelligence aims to support high school students in their educational development.  With this app, available for mobile devices, students can create a free account by selecting a user name and password and after creating their account, they can listen to the lectures, and communicate with their teachers and friends on an online platform.

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Centre continues to organise beautiful events for art lovers. In the concert organized by the Fine Arts Application and Research Centre (GSUAM) on Thursday, May 4 IKU welcomed Türkiye's first and longest-running brass quintet, Golden Horn Brass to the stage. The ensemble consisting of distinguished musicians specialized in both the orchestral repertoire and the field of education provided an unforgettable experience to music lovers with sophisticated arrangements of jazz, pop songs and folk tunes as well as classical pieces.

IKU Faculty of Education, English Language Teaching and Preschool Teaching programs have been granted Accreditation by EPDAD for the next 3 years (01.05.2023-01.05.2026) .We congratulate IKU Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr.  Alim Kaya, Deputy Dean Assist. Prof. Meryem Demirgüdül, Head of the Department of Foreign Language Education Assist. Prof.

We sincerely congratulate the IKU IEEE Red Wings team, for winning the first place under the title "Honorable Mention" in the TEKNOFEST "Combat UAV Competition" and making our university proud.

The international patent application of the study titled “A Textile Product Containing Phase Change Material and a Method for Obtaining Thereof” led by Prof. Dr. Nihal Sarıer, one of the academicians of the Department of Civil Engineering, has been accepted and a document decision has been made for entry into the UK. The study, which received a national patent in July 2022, aims to obtain a textile product containing a phase change material that performs dynamic heat management thanks to nanofiber networks that can heat management in low, normal, or high-temperature regions.

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center hosted world-famous composer and pianist Fazıl Say on Monday, April 24. Fazıl Say gave an unforgettable night to art lovers at the concert organized by the Fine Arts Application and Research Center (GSUAM). In the concert, Say also included the last two great sonatas of M. Schubert which he composed just before his death. 

A panel talk titled "Being a Child in an Earthquake Zone" was organized by our university on Monday, April 17, as part of the "23 April National Sovereignty and Children's Day" week.

A seminar titled “What We Learned from the Kahramanmaraş Earthquake: Right Place, Right Building, Right Supervision” was held on Monday, April 10, 2023, in cooperation with the Department of Architecture of Istanbul Kültür University and the Department of Civil Engineering. Having participated in the event as a speaker, one of our Department of Civil Engineering academicians, Assist. Prof. Erdal Coşkun conveyed his findings about faulty construction in the earthquake region, especially in Kahramanmaraş and Hatay, to students and academics.

With the amendment made to the disciplinary procedures of the students, an information meeting was held regarding the changes made in the disciplinary procedures of the students with the participation of our deans, directors, department and program representatives and especially our Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe, on Thursday, April 13, 2023, between 11:00 and 12:00, at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.
