Assist. Prof. Edip Seçkin and Assist. Prof. Erdal Coşkun from Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering Earthquake Damage Assessment and Evaluation Team, paid a visit the earthquake-effected region between 8-12 March 2023 with the IKU Rectorate entrusted mission of analysing and evaluating the aftermath of the earthquake that occurred in Kahramanmaraş and affected 11 provinces.

Our professors, who identified the structural traces of the earthquake in Kahramanmaraş, Gaziantep, Nurdağı, İslahiye, Hatay, Pazarcık, Antakya and Samandağı regions, came back to evaluate the gathered data.

IKU Earthquake Damage Assessment and Evaluation Team with Assist. Prof. Pınar İnci Koçak from the Department of Civil Engineering accompanying them, revisited the region and contributed to the analysis and evaluation efforts carried out by national and international researchers. In the second visit to the earthquake-effected region, visits were paid to Gaziantep, Nurdağı, İslahiye, Hatay, Pazarcık, İskenderun, Malatya, Gölbaşı and Çiğli regions and information was gathered from the regions and structures.
