The “Women’s Energy Is Türkiye’s Energy” project, carried out in cooperation between Istanbul Kültür University and REGES Elektrik, has entered its second term with the signing of the new-term protocol.

Aiming to increase women’s employment in the energy sector and strengthen women’s professional competencies, the project seeks to establish a more inclusive work structure within the sector. Developed within the framework of a sustainable development approach, the project stands out as a strong social impact model.

In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the “Women’s Energy Is Türkiye’s Energy” project directly contributes to the following goals:

- Gender Equality (SDG 5)
- Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7)
- Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8)
- Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10)

It is welcomed with satisfaction that the second term of this valuable cooperation, carried out with the aim of an equitable, inclusive, and sustainable future in the energy sector, has commenced.

Assist. Prof. İlayda Ülkü, one of our faculty members from the Department of Industrial Engineering, has been granted support within the scope of the 2025 call of the TÜBİTAK 2219 “International Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program.”  Assist. Prof. Ülkü will carry out her research for a period of one year at Purdue University in the United States of America.

Coordinated by IKUANTS TEKMER; in partnership with ATLAS TEKMER, Istanbul Ticaret University TTO, BTM TEKMER, and Maribor Engineering, the "TÜBİTAK TEYDEB 1501–1507–1707 Project Information Training" was held online on January 27, 2026.

The training, conducted by Mustafa Ercan and Serhat Topaloğlu from Maribor Engineering, proceeded in a question-and-answer-focused and interactive format with great interest from the participants. The training covered a comparative analysis of the scope of the 1501 Industrial R&D, 1507 SME R&D Start-up, and 1707 Order-Based R&D support programs, detailing critical points to consider in project idea suitability analysis, project design, work package creation, budget planning approach, and evaluation processes.

Throughout the session, frequently encountered issues in the application process were discussed based on questions raised by participants. In particular, personnel and expense items, budget logic, and points to consider in the application were shared in a practical manner using a sample budget table.

IKUANTS TEKMER thanked the trainers who contributed to the training, partner institutions, and all participants for their high attendance, announcing that it will continue its information and capacity development activities regarding TÜBİTAK and other national/international support mechanisms in the coming period.

The Faculty of Health Sciences will be organizing a webinar titled "Statistical Data Analysis Process (ISTABOT)" which will address the digital transformation process of statistical data analysis, practical applications in academic research, and the scientific contributions offered by the ISTABOT platform. The event, featuring Assoc. Prof. Dr. Naci Murat from Ondokuz Mayıs University as a speaker, will be held online via Google Meets on Tuesday, February 3 at 12:00.
